Getting Started

A preliminary, obligation-free meeting is held to:

• Gather and review your ideas
• Understand what you want to achieve, and
• Gauge your expectations on size, style, materials and finishes.

This, along with a site visit, enables us to provide you with a cost proposal and detail our capabilities.
Once you’re comfortable with our proposal, an initial deposit is required to start the individual design process. The deposit allows us to order site surveys, organise soil tests and make enquiries with the various authorities.

Concept design

A ‘design brief’ meeting is held with our design team, during which your project requirements and vision are discussed in greater detail.

Clients often bring photos, lists and sketches to help us better understand what they want us to create. Our designers will then prepare preliminary concept drawings.

Typically, several meetings take place, where we adjust and refine the concepts according to your feedback. We then present the final concept drawings to you, along with a list of inclusions/specifications and an accurate cost estimate.

Design development

Once you’re comfortable with our concept drawings and cost estimate, a further payment is required to continue to:

• Develop the finer details of the design on Auto CAD
• Refine the inclusions and specifications, and
• Engage an engineer.

If town planning is required, we will begin the process at this stage, engaging consultants as required. As we start to finalise the documentation, we will also consult with landscape architects and pool builders, and call for quotes on demolition.

Contract documentation

As we prepare documentation for building permit applications, a further payment is required to allow us to complete the full working drawings and finalise the engineering.

The landscape design is finalised, and you will appoint a demolition contractor and pool builder. We will assist you to obtain the necessary permits.

A draft contract is presented, including all the final documentation, full working drawings, engineering, specifications and a final quotation.

Upon your approval of the documentation, we will present you with a Master Builders Association domestic building contract ready for signing.

Construction Starts

The contracts are signed and a payment of 5% of the contract value (less all money paid so far) is due.

Bank documentation and finances are finalised, and a building permit application is made.

A building permit is issued, and the construction of your new home commences.

You’ll meet with our interior design team and start making selections for electrical, lighting, heating and cooling, and cabinetry. You can visit various showrooms and suppliers with our interior design team to confirm your choices.

Your finished home

Construction is completed, landscape planting is being finalised, the swimming pool is being filled with water, and with the pop of a champagne cork, you’ll be ready to move into your beautiful new Ravida home!
